Our next Instructor course will start on 30th October – 7th November
The course will run from 30th October - 7th November - 2024
The IE will be held directly after on 8th - 9th November
Instructor specialty courses will be available from the 9th November
We know the ropes and will ensure you get the most out of your training to become a confident diving professional.
Once you complete your Instructor course we will be at hand to help you realise your goal, be it working at a centre or opening up your own School.
Our Full IDC Package includes:
Instructor Development Course ( AI + Plus OWSI)
PLUS: 12 nights shared apartment accommodation
Transport to and from the dive sites
Tanks, air and weights
What you need in order to enrol on this course:
You need to be a PADI Divemaster who has been a certified diver for six months
You need at least 60 logged dives and 100 dives to attend an IE.
Hold EFRI qualification, if you do not have this you can enrol on this course as an extra add on during the IDC.
A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months
Personal set of diving equipment
Have completed the IDC theory online
What to expect during your training:
The IDC is completed over an intensive 9 day period as the IDC teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses.
You’ll be able to organise and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives.
Basically, you become a better public speaker and get really good at demonstrating skills while watching out for student diver safety.
Key topics include:
PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach with in water workshops
Learning, Instruction and the PADI System
Risk Management and Diver Safety
The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor
Marketing Diving and Sales Counselling
On completion of the IDC you will be well prepared for your Instructor Exams, the IE typically takes place the day after your Instructor training course, where over a 2 day period you will be assessed by visiting PADI Examiners. Your Course Director will be present during the Instructor exams and will be on hand to assist you prepare for these 2 days of exams.
On completion of the Instructor exam, we will continue with 3 days of Specialities training, so you will be able to apply for your Instructor specialty ratings.
After the course, what's next?
There are job opportunities with us once you have gained your Instructor qualification, as most of our Team members are Maltaqua trained Instructors.
We always prefer to employ Instructors who are familiar with our set up and method of teaching.
If you are looking to open your own centre, we can assist you with this also. Our sister company can assist you with school equipment, compressor installation, PADI materials, as well as help you with your centre application.
